Default 3/2/06 Update - Some pvp effects

Well this evening is the update with all sorts of nice changes for everyone, Iway included, I will quote some here.

(All from Guildwars.com)
  • Fixed a bug that allowed attack speeds to stack past 33%.
  • "I will avenge you!": reduced attack speed to 25%; fixed a bug that caused this skill to trigger off of dead ally minions.
  • Order of the Vampire: no longer triggers if you have other Necromancer Enchantments on you.
  • Offering of Blood: increased sacrifice to 20%.

As far as you galeway and gale KD warriors :

Gale
: increased Energy cost to 10.

Riposte builds get a big Smiley Face
  • Riposte: increased damage to 20..80.
  • Deadly Riposte: increased damage to 15..75.
  • # Live Vicariously: increased amount healed per swing to 2..17.

Rangers, you might be a little happy about your increased damage.
  • Power Shot: increased damage to 10..25.
  • Precision Shot: increased damage to 10..25.
  • Determined Shot: increased damage to 5..20.
  • Melandru's Assault: increased damage to 5..35; decreased recharge time to 5 seconds.
  • Determined Shot: increased damage to 5..20; fixed a bug that prevented the arrow from being "blocked" or "evaded"; fixed a bug that stopped this skill from recharging when missed from obstruction.

    But then again...
  • Crippling Shot: increased Energy cost to 15; Crippled duration now scales 1..8.

For the rest of the updates you can check it out here: http://www.guildwars.com/aboutgw/gameupdates/

Anyone that has comments, here would be a good place for them, anyone that has more to say about IWAY, which I know there is alot of opinionation about... here is a good place for that too.

Edit
: as a good friend in the fourtune cookie guild [LUCK] informed me tonight, as I asked, isn't Iway nerfed and they replied "10 fame later... I'm not convinced ". I have renamed the title, apparently this didn't do enough.

Thanks

Yep my Pet Preassure build now officially PWNS.

The Rodgort Boost helps too.

IWAY isn't RIP it just needs a bit more skill now. Especially for the orders nec.

Also now Water Ele > Cripshot Ranger IMO

The only real unexpected change was that shadow of fear got buffed instead of nerfed. Considering that it is already super long lasting, AOE, and spammable; they increased its spammability even further. I wouldn't say that it would be a game shattering change either way, but its certainly uite powerful now.

Overall I would have to stay that most of the updates were for the better, I think they went a little far with crippling shot though. The general updates were a good change though as many of them were based on relatively stupid game mechanics - ie interrupting someone while running to their target.

Indeed, they "Ether Renewal"'d it.

However, that is one negative in a sea of positives. This update is awesome, absolutely excellent job. I am trying to work here, but am far too distracted thinking about a build....

I think you still run Crippling Shot or lose to it. We'll see, though.

Peace,

IWAY isn't dead I think, just nerfed enough to make it a little easier on the rest of us.

All in all I think its a good update.

IWAY isnt dead, it just isnt as easy anymore. Plus it basically has about 0.0001% chance to ever win halls(even though i know that wasnt was it was intended for).

Who uses these skills anyway ? :P

As far as Crippling Shot is concerned. It still seems to be effective. I dont think we're going to see any decline in its use but builds centered around it will change in terms of attributes at least. It wasnt fair to be able to consistently cripple with next to no points in Marksmanship.

Gale on warriors is probably dead. 10 energy and negative exhaustion. I'll need to try it out on my own though. As far as IWAY is concerned, you can nerf the skill as much as you want but that build is still going to grind some fame. With so much melee DPS packed into that build I dont think you even need IWAY.

Ive been playing IWAY since the update, nothings different, it still wins. A minor dmg reduction on a skill which is more commonly used for healing doesnt 'kill' something.

IWAY is no where near nerfed, in fact this might of just been the update to help IWAY out. I already have my brain a brewing on how to make it... better :]

Iway skill nerf is not what will change the IWay build.
Order of Vampire nerf is.

Dwarven Battle Stance is amazing now... IWAY teams should start using it.

... and Crude swing is decent now.

Hahahah, bulls strike is nice but not really effective in IWAY. I was thinking more along the lines of dropping order of the vamp and bringing WoP or Lingering curse or something.

What hurts Iway the most in this whole update in my opinion is going to zero on the adrenaline at death and the nerf to eviscerate.

I wouldn't say it killed it but it's definitely going to make it harder to farm faction with it. That's all I was hoping for anyway so it's all good by me.

I would say a combination of the buff to Shadow of Fear, and the balancing of Hex helms will be quite a large factor aswell.
